"When people ask me what I do for a living at birthday parties, I usually say: I make sure that everyone at ANVA can do their job properly," says Jorine. "That sounds simple, but it actually involves a surprising amount of work."
Jorine manages the Hospitality team: reception, company restaurant, and facilities. Everything related to the building and daily amenities falls under her responsibility. "We rent the building, so I work closely with the property manager. But ultimately, it's all about the people who work here. Good workspaces, nice amenities, and an environment where you feel comfortable."
This environment is deliberately more than just functional. "A workplace is also a place where you meet each other. Where you have lunch together, play a game of table tennis, relax for a moment, or socialize. You don't just come here to work; I want it to be a pleasant place to be."
Because it's not just that it's nice to be here, it's the whole package that matters to Jorine, from A to Z. From the moment you arrive and are welcomed at the bar with a fresh cup of coffee from the barista, to the warm farewell that makes you look forward to coming back to the office the next day.
In addition to her role as Lead Hospitality, Jorine has a few other "extra" roles. For example, she is the second head of emergency response and is involved in F.I.E.S.T.A., the team within ANVA that organizes internal events. It is precisely the social aspect of these extra roles that gives her energy!

It's clear when Jorine goes home satisfied. "When I've spoken to lots of people, laughed, and feel that I've really achieved something. That's often a combination of work, but also socializing. Talking to the right colleagues, taking steps, and putting out fires here and there. And organizing events are real highlights! You work towards them for a long time, and at the moment supreme, you see people enjoying themselves. Then you feel satisfied and proud."
That role as a problem solver suits her well. "Facilities management means that you are dependent on others. Things don't always go as planned. I actually enjoy that challenge! It's important to maintain an overview, especially now, with everything that's happening at ANVA. We are building something big together, and in my role, I try to remove barriers for all my colleagues wherever possible."

What does Jorine consider typical of ANVA? "We stand for what we do. Together! Even when it's difficult. Colleagues put their shoulders to the wheel and keep going until it's done."
She works closely with teams such as Marketing, Sales, and IT, especially when it comes to events. "It's precisely the coming together of these teams that creates such an energetic collaboration! I enjoy getting together like this and being part of such a big event where everything comes together."
Jorine is also incredibly proud of her own team. “Every day, I am proud of the Hospitality team. During busy times, everyone gives their all. We do everything in-house, from catering to reception and organization. I think it's really cool that we manage everything together. That's why my role is so diverse; no two days are the same. But the feeling remains the same: the feeling of doing something good for my colleagues!”
“There are so many possibilities at ANVA,” says Jorine. “That can be exciting at times, but the mentality here is clear: we prefer someone who takes initiative to someone who waits around. You have to seize opportunities yourself; that's how you learn the most.”
Development plays a major role in this. “I have taken many training courses, both internally and externally. What I like is that you can really learn from each other. You can immediately apply the theories you learn together with your colleagues. That is learning with and from each other.”
The 50th anniversary party is the ANVA moment for Jorine. "We had come up with a game where everyone had to find their team. With 150 people in one room. It descended into complete chaos. Everyone was running around, laughing, searching. Hilarious."
She thinks back on it with a big smile. "But it was exactly ANVA. Unforced enthusiasm, a desire to work together, and above all, a lot of fun."
Are you considering applying for a job at ANVA? Jorine doesn't need to think long about her advice: "Go for it. If you're looking for a place where you can think in terms of possibilities, where you can choose what you want to be involved in, and where development is really encouraged. You can be yourself here. That feels really good."
