A transition to ANVA 6 is more than just a technical migration. It’s the perfect opportunity to take a critical look at your IT landscape and the way your organization operates. In doing so, it can sometimes be helpful to engage a migration partner, such as PwC. Curious to see what this looks like? In this case study and video from PwC, you’ll discover how they’re supporting insurer Midglas during its migration to ANVA 6.

Innovation Through Ambition and Growth

Midglas has grown significantly in recent years and aims to continue doing so. “Our customer satisfaction is high. But to remain a market leader in glass repair, we’re aiming for a 9+,” says Rob Hennekam, Director of Operations and Finance at Midglas. This ambition called for innovation, as their IT infrastructure was significantly outdated.

Why Choose a Migration Partner?

Midglas therefore decided to be the very first customer to migrate to ANVA 6. It’s an exciting step that requires thorough preparation. After all, if you want a system to truly work for you, you have to make a lot of decisions up front: how do you set up your processes efficiently, what data do you include, what integrations are needed, and how do you ensure it’s future-proof?

To ensure it was well-prepared for the migration process, Midglas enlisted the help of its migration partner, PwC. Midglas is taking the lead in this effort, but PwC is providing support in areas such as developing the target architecture, analyzing processes, and making the right decisions. This ensures that a clear roadmap is established early in the process.

"Successful implementation begins well before the software is set up. By working together to make the right choices in advance, the implementation process goes much more smoothly. Given Midglas’s goals and ambitions, the support provided by migration partner PwC offers significant added value in this regard.”
– Naomi Stol, Lead Consultant at ANVA

From Strategy to Implementation

With a clear vision for the future and a well-defined starting point, PwC began the migration process in collaboration with Midglas. “We first assessed the current state of affairs and identified the bottlenecks and issues that Midglas wanted to resolve. Based on this blueprint, we created a design that could be implemented,” explains Martin Holm, Director of Operations & Insurance at Midglas.

This design will be implemented in four phases:

Phase 1. Designing a Future-Proof IT Landscape

The process begins with the development of a target architecture, which is then broken down into:

  • Functional Design: What Will the Future Back-Office System Look Like?
  • Technical Design: What Will Integrations, Performance, and Security Look Like?
  • Information Model: How Does It Support Midglas's Business Operations?

Step 2. Determine the Right Core Solution

Midglas itself was already eager to make the transition from ANVA 4/5 to 6. However, as an independent party, PwC takes a critical stance. Based on the blueprint from the first step, they assess whether this core solution truly aligns with the organization’s vision for the future. In Midglas’s case, it turned out to be the perfect match!

The deciding factor? The combination of a proven, future-proof architecture, more than 50 years of industry-specific expertise, and a clear and attractive pricing proposition. In addition, the extensive integration capabilities, AI readiness, flexible screen configuration, and the ability to operate in the cloud were also important factors for Midglas.

Step 3. Develop products, processes, data, and communication

During this phase, we focus on practical implementation. Together with ANVA and the ANVA users at Midglas, we develop products, processes, data, and communication flows. This is important because they are the ones who will eventually be working with these tools. By ensuring that everything integrates seamlessly into daily operations, ANVA will add even more value in the future.

Step 4. From Design to Implementation

The final phase focuses on implementing the detailed design: in other words, the actual migration! This includes setting up ANVA, migrating data, establishing connections, and testing the new environment.
