AMERSFOORT / EDE - In August last year, ANVA and AWI announced the first steps toward a partnership to jointly provide more value to the insurance industry. This cooperation is now confirmed with a first initiative: Insurance Product Content, product engines for insurers and underwriters.
Uniformity and quality of data are themes that have gripped the industry for years. It is no coincidence that the Dutch Association of Insurers and the Dutch Association of Authorized Insurance Companies (NVGA) have jointly set up the Uniform Inrichting Volmachtketen (SUIV) with the aim of standardizing the recording and exchange of data between agents and insurers as well as improving data quality in the channel.
ANVA and AWI see that rates, underwriting rules, conditions & clauses, tables, screens and data fields are still decentralized in the systems of underwriters. As a result, these data are used in a non-uniform manner by the advisors and intermediaries who work with them. This form of recording, which causes a fragmentation of product specifications, is problematic for the industry, which must comply with increasingly stringent laws and regulations. Until now, ANVA and AWI have independently standardized various content. Although we complement each other in many areas, there has obviously been some overlap. Therefore, we have decided to cooperate in this area and pool our unified content. The ambition of ANVA and both AWI is clear;
We want to provide the entire Dutch insurance industry with validated content so that we can cooperate more efficiently and better. With this, we want to contribute to the continuity of the proxy chain.
The first step in the cooperation is entirely dedicated to the development and support of product engines for insurers and agents. Together, ANVA and AWI offer private and business product engines for insurance products that are unlocked according to the applicable market standards (SIVI). In addition, AWI and ANVA handle the distribution of these products and develop comprehensive product manuals for the benefit of the system house setup. ANVA's service desk provides first-line support in this regard. To accelerate and ease the rollout of the various insurance products, ANVA's consultants provide setup support. In recent months, ANVA and AWI have been busy behind the scenes developing these product engines, which have already gone live at the first providers. Unigarant, one of the first customers says the following.
Unigarant: 'We saw in AWI and ANVA a suitable partner to open up our new Home Insurance in an innovative way. They managed to build an engine that not only meets the latest market standards, but is also available for all common platforms. And that contemporary way of working fits in perfectly with Unigarant's core values.
ANVA and AWI's joint product engines are the first initiative that ANVA and AWI are taking to market together in the partnership. In the course of the year, more initiatives will start to offer more validated content together, such as terms and conditions, clauses and more. Remco Brouwer (product owner) at ANVA: "We are convinced that our partnership is going to provide great added value in the industry and we look forward to developing new initiatives together.
