Migrating to ANVA 6 with ITDS: Here’s what you’ll gain

Switching to new software isn’t something you do every day. A successful implementation can bring significant benefits, but there’s a lot involved. What exactly? Martin Olsthoorn and Bjarne Sinneker from migration partner ITDS and Naomi Stol from ANVA explain why migrating to ANVA 6 is a good idea and walk you through what the process entails.

Switching with ITDS

Migrating can be a major undertaking for an organization. Of course, ANVA is here to support you. But day-to-day operations must continue as usual. That’s why more intensive support can sometimes be helpful. That’s why ANVA partners with ITDS, a migration specialist. As a consulting firm in the financial sector, they not only have extensive experience with migrations but also a broad understanding of the insurance industry.

Your critical friend

“ANVA ensures the technical aspects are right, and we make sure it aligns with who you are. You can think of us as the critical friend who asks tough questions about functionality. Are you adopting something because it aligns with your mission, or because that’s just how you’ve always done it?” explains Martin. ANVA delivers next-level software, and ITDS brings years of implementation expertise: a winning combination.

Migrate step by step

If you choose ITDS as your migration partner, we’ll guide you through the migration step by step. “Of course, the specifics vary from organization to organization, but generally speaking, we follow a six-step process: definition, analysis, implementation, migration, testing, and transformation,” explains Martin. The process thus focuses on the workflow, the technology, and user adoption.

A smooth and lightning-fast process

Bjarne continues: “We start with the process side: how do you work now, and how do you want to work? We involve ANVA users early on to prevent resistance.” Decision-making also plays a crucial role here. “We identify who the decision-makers are and determine in advance how to handle unexpected situations. This keeps things moving quickly!”

Give it a good cleaning

There’s also room for improvement in terms of technology when it comes to speed. “What will you actually need—and what won’t you need? Are you bringing a document or data with you because it’s useful, or simply because that’s how you’ve always done it?” Bjarne explains that bringing too much legacy data over to the new platform often causes delays. What’s more, in some cases, it’s no longer even legally permissible to do so.

Stay within the lines

Martin continues: “This is where we, as an implementation partner, really make a difference. We ensure that everything stays within the lines.” According to him, clients often feel like a kid in a candy store and sometimes want more than is necessary. “We take a critical look at what truly aligns with the processes. That saves time during the project, but also in the long run.”

Open to the standard

Naomi agrees. Do you want to start getting value out of ANVA 6 as soon as possible? In her view, it’s essential to be open to the standard. “First, take a look at what’s already possible, instead of immediately trying to build exceptions. We’ve thought everything through carefully! If you accept that your way of working will change, you’ll be up and running much faster.”

(Almost) everything is automated

And you want to be up and running quickly! With ANVA 6, you’ll achieve significant efficiency gains. Naomi: “Everything will soon be automated. If you enter a Chamber of Commerce number, the details will pop up automatically. We’re also connected to more data sources, allowing you to enter data at lightning speed.” Plus, everything will soon be in the cloud, so no more VPNs or service management.

All set for ANVA 6

Still, making the switch can be nerve-wracking. “People are practically working their way through the system with their eyes closed right now. Soon, that won’t be possible anymore,” says Naomi. That’s why a lot of attention is being paid to adoption through discussions, training sessions, and content. ITDS also always works with ambassadors: employees who are deeply committed to supporting their colleagues.
