And it quickly became clear that the migration is much more than transferring labels, macros and source data. Thus, the way of working is going to change for everyone, and it is important that the transition and adoption of ANVA 6 goes smoothly throughout the organization.
In addition, many customers have ANVA software interfaced with other solutions, from partners, third parties and in-house builds. For a full migration, all those solutions must be able to make with ANVA 6. From ANVA we will include all our partners in the whole change and make sure they have all the knowledge to interface with ANVA 6. All solutions that have been chosen or built by yourselves must also be made suitable for interfacing with ANVA 6. We will not play a proactive role in this. However, we will provide the correct information about the APIs and the data to make the connection possible.
Because ANVA 6 is still under development, there are also some uncertainties. We do not know at this time exactly how the data will be migrated. What we do know is that it will be through the ANVA Data Platform. How?
The data goes from ANVA 4/5 to the data platform, there we make translations and transfer the data to ANVA 6. Because a good audit trail is important, we bring the data from ANVA 6 back to the data platform and put it next to the data from ANVA 4/5. Besides quality, speed is important here. We will test and fine tune until this fits in a weekend, or faster.
Our advice for now: make sure yourself, or work with us, to gain insight into what you are functionally using and the quality of your data. This insight helps to estimate how much work is needed and to create a specific migration plan for your organization. To make this easier, we are currently developing a baseline measurement for you on our Data Platform and with Business Insights. Later this year we will make this available to everyone in combination with consultancy and inform you when you can start using it.
We are already receiving many requests to help with data cleansing. We welcome that, but the advice is also to be patient for a while. We are investigating whether we can use smart tools during the migration to clean up the data. It is then important to know what to do with the current data, convert it to the standard, leave it or take it over as it is now.
Toward the end of the year there will be a follow-up when it comes to migration. Then we want to zoom in further on what we do with history, does that really need to be included? We then expect to be able to show the first draft of translation tables and migration and are happy to enter into the conversation about free labels and how to deal with them.
