In the section "on the floor at..." we interview ANVA colleagues about their roles, work and responsibilities inside and outside ANVA's doors. This time we speak with Risnke Bosma, UX Designer at ANVA.

That sounds very detailed. What process do you enjoy most as a UX Designer?

"I am particularly interested in customer research. At my previous employer, unfortunately, there was not as much time for this as at ANVA. At ANVA, I get the chance to work 32 hours a week as a UX designer. So this also gives me more time to engage in customer research."

What else attracted you to join ANVA?

"At ANVA, I am taken more seriously. We have the opportunity here to get more maturity in the UX and see a lot of action that can be taken. We can work on more consistent processes and systems in the UX. This attracts me a lot."

How can we see the maturity in UX as well?

"We are now focusing on the designs of the systems such as ANVA Hub, ANVA 6, etc. We are striving to get more consistency in the systems. Consistency in the design of the systems includes several components. We look at the buttons and whether they make sense, we look at how you are routed through them and we check the major flows."

So quite a few things can still be changed in the existing systems?

"Before we change anything, of course we look at user awareness. This falls under customer research. Our colleagues on the service desk are a great help in this. They have daily contact with the customer and hear any difficulties in our systems or what customers actually like. This helps us in improving the designs."

That sounds pretty complicated. Do you want to specialize in anything else?

"That's a good question. I want to specialize myself more in measurement and interviews for customer research. I hope to pick this up in the coming year."

That's a nice development goal. What else would you like to share with us?

"Thank you! We are very proud of the completed designs and are moving forward with this in good spirits. Our team is still small and we would love to see more UX designers join ANVA's fun UX team. So be sure to let us hear from you!"

A fun conclusion. Rinske, thanks for your time and will you keep us posted on all the fun projects?

"No problem. I sure do!"
