Accurately accessing data in an efficient manner is becoming increasingly important in the insurance market. At ANVA, we believe it is important to continue to invest in this. A great example of this is our data platform.
Technological advances are changing the world of data. Systems are aging and sometimes no longer meet quality requirements. This also applies to the Veryant ODBC driver. "Previously, data came only from ANVA 4/5. Currently ANVA is undergoing developments, with a move to the cloud. This would create fragmented data storage in our landscape, so at some point you can no longer get all the data out of the ODBC driver," says Marline van Ramselaar, Productowner at ANVA. Since we wanted to offer new data access capabilities at the same time, it was high time for innovation.
Marline continues: "We therefore started looking for a central place where data from all parts of the application landscape can come together and which also offers modern accessibility options. To this end, we built our data platform. The data platform is scalable, has high performance and offers many possibilities for data disclosure."
The data platform allows you to query/access large amounts of data across very large data sets, without burdening the ANVA production environment. That was a big wish from our customers. For example, from Erwin Koelewijn, Data Scientist at Poliservice BV. "The most important advantage for us is that we can switch faster and easier with the printout of reports. We have much faster insight into the data with the data platform. Moreover, the data is available near real time," says Erwin.
Marline: "With our data platform, you unlock data with modern connectors, with the platform scaling with you based on demand." The combination of ANVA Extract with the new data platform therefore represents the best alternative to the Veryant ODBC driver, whose user rights expire in November 2023. But what exactly can you do with this new data platform? Justin Schlee, CPO at ANVA explains, "We make data available and what you do with it is up to you. Various partners are connected to the data platform and it can be used for your own application development. In addition, we are going to use it for simplifying conversions and the control steps on them."
This cloud-based data platform makes it possible to unlock data from ANVA 4/5 to your application landscape. As large queries, reports or data dumps are executed within the data platform, the performance and stability of ANVA 4/5 improves significantly. Marline concludes, "Our data platform provides our customers with a central location for data retrieval, using both the operational datastore and datamart. We are also going to increasingly enrich the data platform with both internal and external data sources. So a nice toolkit that every customer and partner can make use of for their own data needs."
