Max Mouwen

Max Mouwen is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at ANVA. He sets the strategic direction for the organization and guides ANVA’s continued development as a leading fintech company in the insurance industry. He focuses on innovation, business development, and digital transformation, with the goal of achieving sustainable growth and maintaining relevance in a rapidly changing market.

Mouwen has a background in business administration and began his career in the financial sector. He worked at companies including ING and ABN AMRO and later held an executive position at Interpolis, where he was responsible for the corporate market, innovation, and digital customer service.

Upon taking office in 2021, he charted a new course, shifting the focus from traditional software to a unique, new platform designed for the entire insurance value chain. Under his leadership, ANVA 6 is being developed: a cloud-native platform that helps organizations accelerate, innovate, and scale internationally, with data and AI at its core.

In his leadership role, Mouwen takes an “outside-in” and multidisciplinary approach to strategic, tactical, and operational issues. He works closely with stakeholders, partners, and employees to further develop ANVA and create sustainable value for customers and the insurance industry.

Justin Schlee

Justin Schlee is Chief Product Officer (CPO) at ANVA. He is responsible for the product strategy of ANVA 4/5 and ANVA 6. He is constantly driving innovation within ANVA, focuses on developing a sustainable, fair financial ecosystem, and helps ANVA further establish itself as a fintech company.

Schlee has a strong background in innovation and technology within the financial sector. He was instrumental in developing one of the industry’s first cloud solutions and has since become an innovation strategist with a keen eye for digital transformation, platform development, and bridging the gap between technology and business.

Within ANVA, he plays a central role in the transition to a platform-driven approach. He is working on the development of ANVA 6, a cloud-native and AI-ready platform that offers financial products in an integrated manner and connects all links in the chain.

Collaboration and connectivity are central to his vision. He believes that the future of financial services lies in bringing together products, data, and supply chain partners, with AI and other technologies serving as catalysts.

In addition to his work, Schlee is a passionate musician with a penchant for punk rock, and he regularly combines this creative side with technology, such as the use of AI in his music.

Harry Boersen

Harry Boersen is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at ANVA. He is responsible for the technological strategy and development of the ANVA platform, with the goal of creating scalable, secure, and future-proof technology that supports the entire insurance chain.

He has spent many years working in the financial sector in various roles, where he designed and implemented digital transformations. At LeasePlan, for example, he was responsible for the digital transformation across multiple countries. Prior to that, he worked in the mortgage sector, where his responsibilities included building a mortgage back-office system.

At ANVA, he is leading the technological transition to a modern SaaS platform. He is closely involved in the development of ANVA 6, which brings together AI, the cloud, and modern engineering practices. His belief is that technology is rarely the problem. The real challenge lies in working together toward a clear goal, with enthusiasm and energy. If that’s in place, the rest will follow naturally.

His approach is pragmatic and results-oriented, but always grounded in a clear vision and strategy. He believes in the power of technology to help us all improve, provided we do so in a sustainable way and as a team.

A personal note

In his free time, Harry can be found running on the track in Utrecht, swimming in the pool, or, when he has the chance, riding his road bike. In the evenings, he enjoys experimenting with AI.

Daan van der Lugt

Daan van der Lugt is Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at ANVA. He is responsible for all aspects of customer service, including sales, marketing, consulting, and support. With this broad commercial scope of responsibility, he plays a central role in strengthening customer relationships and driving sustainable growth.

His career began at leading American software providers such as CA Technologies and Business Objects (now SAP), where he helped organizations optimize mission-critical processes. This international experience laid a solid foundation in enterprise software and complex IT environments. Driven by a broad interest in business and strategic issues, Van der Lugt subsequently successfully completed an MBA program.

After this period, he deliberately focused on working for Dutch organizations, where he actively contributed to the development and implementation of strategy and policy. In his leadership role, Van der Lugt combines commercial ambition with building strong teams, emphasizing collaboration and personal development.

At ANVA, he and his teams work closely with clients to facilitate the transition from the traditional on-premise software product to the new SaaS platform. In addition, he focuses on driving growth by attracting new clients, expanding the service portfolio, and strengthening the company’s international position.

In addition to his professional work, Van der Lugt is involved in various social initiatives through which he strives to make an impact beyond the organization.
