Your role
As a Staff Engineer, you are the technical hub within multiple development teams. You work hands-on on complex platform components and translate architectural principles into working software. You have no direct reports, but you do have a major influence on the technical direction and quality of the platform. Together with Product Owners, Architecture Responsibles and our Engineering Manager, you will ensure that our new FinLife platform is scalable, secure and maintainable - and perfectly aligned with our strategic goals.
What will you do?
- Design, build and review critical platform components (Java/Spring Boot).
- Translate architectural principles (modular, event-driven, API-first) into concrete solutions.
- Lead technical design and decision-making sessions (ADR/RFC).
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies and release processes.
- Strengthen reliability, observability and security in the platform.
- Supervise migrations and evolution of platform components.
- Sharing knowledge through documentation, tech talks and mentoring.
What do you bring?
- Extensive and relevant experience in a similar role building distributed systems in agile environments.
- Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot and API-first design (Kotlin is a plus).
- Experience with SaaS, multi-tenant architectures and event-driven systems.
- Familiar with cloud-native development on AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- In-depth knowledge of CI/CD, observability, messaging (Kafka), security (OAuth2/OIDC) and compliance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical choices clearly.
- Coaching: you help others grow through pairing and review.
