In cooperation with AWI, ANVA offers advanced calculation boxes. These so-called Product Engines fit seamlessly into your application landscape as a calculation box and acceptance engine. This way you do not miss out on any sales, you work on optimal customer service and all policies only leave the door with the right premium. Jeroen Klopstra is Power of Attorney Manager at Unigarant and shares his experiences with Govert Wessel of HDI.

Govert Wessel - HDI

"As a fairly young insurer, we grew from a department within HDI to a separate company in 2021. That was the moment when we started setting up certain things in our own way. We heard good stories from several underwriters about the Product Engines of Insurance Product Content (IPC), the alliance company of ANVA and AWI. From that experience, we started setting up our first and, for us, new product: fire insurance. Because the product was built from an insurance perspective, we ran into quite a few consequences and challenges in the software design. Fortunately, IPC was able to create a good bridge between our wishes and the possibilities in IT. ANVA paid close attention to limitations or additional possibilities. Eventually we had to adjust acceptance questions and the corresponding AFD definition had an effect on our final questions. Because of this, the going live of our first product took longer than anticipated, but everything is now well thought out. We are now taking the follow-up steps to launch other products using IPC as well. Going through such a learning process usually makes it easier to take further steps. Ultimately, we hope that IPC will bring efficiency gains to our trustees, so that our portfolio, like theirs, will also grow again."

Jeroen Klopstra - Unigarant

"Our home insurance policy is linked to an external database. In order to determine the reinstatement value, among other things, our Managing General Agents had to link to it themselves. The calculation box allows the Managing General Agents Agents to retrieve the necessary data from the database without having to link to the external database themselves. Another benefit is that both we and the proxy know that the correct premium is being used. As an insurer, AWI rolled out the first calculation boxes with us. We are now using several calculation boxes and are working toward offering all of our products through IPC by the end of 2024. The process leading up to it has been a close collaboration and sometimes involved a lot of hard work. This was due to the content and complexity of the product, the introduction of the uniform design with associated AFD definitions and product changes within our organisation. Fortunately, the lines of communication are short and we have a permanent contact person with whom we can communicate quickly. IPC saves us and the proxy a considerable amount of time. We are therefore pleased with the switch, support from ANVA and AWI and look forward to the upcoming deliveries."

IPC stands for Insurance Product Content. That is the organizational name of ANVA's alliance with AWI.Together we build and deliver Product Engines to Insurers, Proxy Agencies and Service Providers.
