In April of this year, ANVA signed a letter of intent together with the Association of Insurers, the NVGA and other software suppliers to improve data quality in the proxy channel. Meanwhile, the first steps have been taken to achieve a uniform approach in which all offices will set up data in the same way. We would like to update you and take you through the progress of this project.
Despite the fact that much has already been achieved in recent years to improve data quality in the proxy market, the urgency remains, according to the Association of Insurers and the NVGA. In 2017, for example, De Nederlandse Bank commented on the pace of improvements. Among other things, this has a major impact on being able to meet quality requirements. In order to improve the control of the proxy chain and to give the process an extra boost, the Dutch Association of Insurers and the NVGA have jointly set up the Uniform Inrichting Volmachtketen foundation. The foundation pursues the following two goals:
Unification means that all Managing General Agents involved set up each proxy product for each company in a uniform way and also that only those things can be insured that fall within that insurance. For example, the coverage provided and what kind of objects are insured. Each company decides for itself what their products look like.
The intent is for all insurers to provide an SIVI-certified product definition for each product based on the SIVI AFD Standard. The insurers will specify the minimum data required to close a product. For example, the data necessary for the policy, supervision, reporting to reinsurers, premium and underwriting. Agreements that deviate from the standard are recorded in an unambiguous manner. Both insurers, Managing General Agents and suppliers such as ANVA use the same principles for the product, with the software suppliers providing the standard set-up in the various systems.
To make this happen, it was decided in consultation with the Uniform Organization of Managing General Agents Foundation to implement the unification of the market in steps. We will start with the main auto sector and then move on to fire, AVP and finally all other policies. We will start with the companies: Nationale Nederlanden, Reaal, de Goudse Verzekeringen, Avéro Achmea and a.s.r. The rest will follow later. The goal of the foundation is to have 80% of the proxy policies unified by the end of 2021.
To ensure that our customers can convert their policies to the new uniform design, we are busy developing new standard product screens in ANVA Backoffice that belong to the standard design of the relevant product. These screens are easy to read yourself, but can no longer be changed. Of course it remains possible to set defaults and macros and to add extra windows yourself. We are developing a special tool for converting policies, with which customers can easily carry out this conversion.
To test the new screens and conversion tools each quarter, we have enlisted the help of our customers. Through various pilots, we get feedback on the design and operation of the products. Meanwhile, AGEVO Assurantiën has started the pilot for NN's car insurance. Interested in participating in the pilot as well? Let us know atanva.nl
