


The relationship between ANVA and ISC goes back a long way. Rob Grijpma, founder of ISC and involved with ANVA for decades, witnessed its development firsthand, from the first versions of ANVA to the current generation of software.
“The collaboration started out very personally,” Rob explains. “The first agreements were made verbally, sometimes literally with a bouncer in a restaurant. Now, years later, everything is recorded professionally, but that personal character has always remained.”
This long shared history means that ISC does more than just provide support. ISC is not only familiar with the ANVA software, but also understands how ANVA relationships work in the Caribbean. And that is precisely what makes local support so valuable.
Support in the Caribbean requires a different approach than in the Netherlands. Whereas processes here are often standardized and supported by central facilities, this is by no means always the case in the Caribbean.
“Many agreements that are taken for granted in the Netherlands simply do not exist here,” explains Rob. “Think of central data sources or industry-wide agreements. That means that solutions here often require customization, or just that last few percent of coordination.”
This is precisely where ISC and ANVA complement each other. ISC contributes local market knowledge and customer context, while ANVA provides technical and functional expertise. Together, they ensure that solutions are tailored to the daily practices of Caribbean clients, both today and tomorrow.
There is a high level of confidence in this collaboration. Partly as a result of this, we recently welcomed Azura Insurances NV on St. Maarten as a new ANVA user.
Good support starts with clarity. For ANVA customers in the Caribbean, ISC is the first point of contact for support.
The support process is clearly structured: ISC collects questions and requests, liaises with ANVA's support and product teams in the Netherlands where necessary, and provides clear feedback to the customer. This ensures that support remains close, personal, and effective—with the right expertise always behind the scenes.
For many Caribbean relations, ANVA's Alwin Smale was a familiar face for many years. That changed when he moved internally to the role of Product Owner. This immediately presented an opportunity to further professionalize the working method. From now on, all questions will be handled by ISC: from support and functional questions to commercial coordination and brainstorming about solutions.
