After a six-week crash course, the time had come: in October, the first group of trainees from ANVA's traineeship to Functional Administrator received their diplomas. Jackelien was one of them. 'I have been working with ANVA's software for years, but on the front end,' she explains. 'Now, for the first time, I'm getting to know the back end of the application.'
In the seven years at Alpina, Jackelien has held various roles. "I started in 2018 as an Inside Sales Advisor for Private and Wealth, and switched to Business two years later. At one point, I was at a crossroads in my career and wondered if I wanted to continue doing this work for the rest of my life. Just then a notice appeared on the intranet that they were looking for an ANVA Application Administrator.'
The information session for the traineeship was moved from Doetinchem, where Jackelien works, to Zeeland. 'Coincidentally, my husband and I were going to Concert at Sea the next day,' she says. 'We decided to leave a day early with our caravan so I could attend the session. The IT team leader had urged me to go because he thought it could be something for me. A few weeks after the session, I got a call asking if I wanted to do the traineeship.'

For Alpina, ANVA's traineeship also came at a good time. 'We have been struggling with a lack of sufficient knowledge on ANVA management for several years,' says Raymond Meilink, team leader and project coordinator Application Management at Alpina. 'In addition, we did not have sufficient capacity to supervise this internally, so we embarked on this project jointly with ANVA. The goal was to spend six weeks retraining Jackelien to become an ANVA Application Administrator.'
On Sept. 16, Jackelien began the traineeship and said goodbye to her role as a consultant. Fortunately, I always had an affinity with IT. One of my best friends and colleague immediately said, "This is really something for you." How often do you get the chance for such a career switch?' The first two weeks of the traineeship were cake to Jackelien. 'That gave me a head start, because the others had yet to be introduced to the basics of ANVA.'
Both Jackelien and Raymond liked the traineeship. 'It was intensive, but worthwhile,' says Raymond. 'We gained a lot of knowledge that we will benefit from in the coming years.' Jackelien is positive about her future at Alpina. 'I'm not a forward planner, but I value challenge,' she says. 'With my new position as Application Administrator, that will be just fine. Alpina is a nice company where people are always there for you. This is where I feel at home.'
