A look back at the Customer Contact Quiz

With great pleasure, we as Customer Support team participated in the third edition of the Customer Contact Quiz. A quiz with many questions about having customer contact. Together with over 60 other Dutch companies we competed for the win. In my blog of this month I would like to take you on our adventure.

Six months ago we were challenged to participate in the Customer Contact Quiz. And well, of course we didn't say no to that! We thought it would be really cool to be able to measure ourselves against big names in the customer contact industry such as bol.com. We made a video to promote and challenge other organizations, came up with a team name and created avatars.

The quiz was created in the form of a game. The avatars were our own characters with which we played the game, forming our own digital team. After playing a few trial quizzes, we were all set.

Time to play!

Thursday, September 29, was the day. One by one we logged in and did our best to answer all the questions correctly. Sometimes that was quite difficult. While colleagues were busy we could see the points in our digital team and avatars jumped to their position in the ranking. So for colleagues who had yet to start there was already a nice bar.

The mutual struggle to perform well as a team was very nice to see. When everyone finished there were still two avatars not made, unfortunately these two colleagues were sick. That wasn't going to cost us the win, was it? The fanatical colleagues sprang into action. Sick colleagues were called to ask them to reset their passwords and the best scoring colleagues were allowed to take the quiz again. This way we all got the most out of our participation. Moreover, we had a very pleasant day at the office and experienced a fun way to gain more knowledge when it comes to customer contact.

Award ceremony

We concluded our participation on September 30 with a cool party in Amsterdam. There the awards were presented. We had three chances to win, in the category:

  • Dear employee
  • Dear manager
  • Best team

With jitters in our bellies and in close contact the colleagues who were not along via WhatsApp, we stood together with other participants waiting for the announcement. Unfortunately, we did not win any of the prizes. So an extra motivation to participate again next year! Then not only with all our colleagues from Customer Support, but also with our consultants and account managers. Looking back, we thought it was great fun. We hope that even more companies will participate next year that enjoy their participation as much as we do.
