A lot is changing in the industry right now when it comes to digital passports, business certificates and eRecognition. For us, too, it's a regular search. To avoid questions, in this blog I like to take you through the world of online identification and then focus on the use of certificates in ANVA.
We are not switching to eRecognition within our software. In fact, all services requiring (online) identification will go through a company certificate.
! Please note that you do need eRecognition to apply for or renew this certificate.
Earlier this year, the retrieval of ADN was already changed, this can now only be done using a company certificate. The next link is Aplaza. This is now retrieved using a digital passport. As of Jan. 7, 2022, it can only be retrieved using a company certificate. Aplaza has added a comprehensive page to its website around this change, with all available information.
We are fortunately working closely with Aplaza when it comes to this change. Below I tell more about this switch within ANVA. With that, it's good to know that you can use the same company certificate for Aplaza as you can for ADN. In addition, you can use the company certificate in ANVA for external charging via VPI, performing Fish and Compliancy and retrieving vehicle data via Audascan.
You have a choice in this. You can renew your digital passport and then use it to retrieve Aplaza until January 7, 2022. However, you can also choose to switch to a company certificate now. Especially if you already use it to retrieve ADN, we advise you to choose this method.
In fact, ANVA already supports this in all release versions. As of 50.P03.10 we have replaced the word digital passport with company certificate and it is even clearer that you can retrieve Aplaza with a company certificate. If you switch from a digital passport to the company certificate, you need to delete the passport first in the BOAR path and then add the company certificate. You can read the steps to do this below:
It is good to know that you can retrieve multiple mailboxes with one company certificate. There may be multiple employees associated with a mailbox for authentication. The same company certificate can be associated with all of those employees. This is because, as mentioned above, the company certificate is valid for the entire company and is not personalized. Do you have multiple offices in your dataset? Then you do need to use a company certificate for each office.
As mentioned earlier, you can still renew the digital passport and continue to use it until January 7, 2022. Once you have renewed the passport you also need to renew it in ANVA. You also do this in the BOAR path under digital passports or certificates. You then click on the employee whose passport has expired, choose renew and enter the data for the new digital passport. Again, you need to update the user data so that Aplaza knows the new passport. As of Jan. 7, 2022, the Digital Passport will be completely replaced by eRecognition.
Many insurers and Managing General Agents deliver messages through the Time message service and the Connect mailbox. For these mailboxes and Aegon's mailbox, identification runs through Aplaza and everything is automatically updated when you update your user credentials. However, NN and ASR (also) deliver via their own mailboxes. They have to pass on the change separately when renewing a digital passport or switching to a company certificate. When renewing a digital passport, you log into the insurer's extranet with your old digital passport and then update it to your user account. If you switch to a company certificate, you also need to pass this on to the extranets.
Finally, just to be sure: Have you switched to a company certificate? Then you no longer need a digital passport within ANVA. Keep your passwords for digital passports and company certificates safe! If something does go wrong, we will be happy to help you quickly. Don't have a company certificate yet? Request it here here.
