ANVA takes a big step forward and moves towards becoming a modern InsurTech company

Over a year ago, CEO Max Mouwen spoke about the social journey goal he set for ANVA's future. By offering a renewed platform that helps financial specialists to provide good advice and matching products, he wishes to make and keep the Netherlands financially fit and healthy. In the meantime a lot has changed, both within and outside our own walls. To keep up with trends and developments in the insurance market, we constantly renew and improve our software solutions. But not only that. Max likes to update you, together with Justin Schlee (CPO) and Guido Schoonheim (CTO).

Working towards a financially healthy Netherlands, the past year has been hard work within ANVA. From success stories such as the first user experiences with the new Dataplatform for customers to the substantial reduction of open support calls. From connecting to new laws and regulations to the ever-growing partner network. It may not always seem like it yet, yet there is a fresh wind blowing on the Amersfoort City Ring. And this is not only due to the renovation and modernization of our office building.

Challenging field of work

From the social travel goal formulated by Max, the development of ANVA 6 will be shaped. One example is the signaling of possible financial situations in the life cycle of a person or object. The platform works proactively to enable the advisor to get his or her client(s) financially fit. A very innovative concept, then, especially for the insurance market.

Meanwhile, the first important basic components of ANVA 6 have been developed. Modern, cloud-based access via APIs and free labels are included in the new system. Our application renewal and cloud-based approach requires more intensive contact with customers. Guido: "We want to improve ANVA 4/5 qualitatively with every release. We are investing in test automation, among other things, for this reason."

Fresh wind

As the longest-serving member on the management team, Justin sees change. "I feel fresh energy returning and notice that our improvements and innovations are being used successfully by customers. I see colleagues who are happy with the changes, in both work style and culture. ANVA is a very different company than it was a few years ago. I truly believe we are becoming a full-fledged InsurTech company with a modern approach and tooling. Together we are working towards a modern software platform with millions of transactions and many more solutions that help our customers in their business every day."

Max is pleased with what has already been accomplished. "We now work within ANVA entirely according to Agile principles. Knowledge sharing is paramount within our engineering culture, which we will continue to strengthen in the coming years. Not only internally, also externally. Our consultants are getting busier every day supporting clients with important and complex issues. The insurance market is experiencing a significant aging population, which is causing ANVA knowledge to decline within offices. For that reason, we created the ANVA Academy and offer a curriculum of training courses for users, administrators and developers at different experience levels. We are making significant strides and have scrutinized every part of our business, brought it back up to date. ANVA is becoming more and more what you can and should expect from a modern InsurTech company."

Going into the future well prepared together

Looking ahead, we would like to connect even more closely with you, the customer. Guido: "We don't want to be the submarine that surfaces at some point with a solution that our customers have to hope suits their needs. We are going to formulate a joint roadmap that lets our customers accelerate. We have a clear vision about that, which we are happy to sharpen in consultation".

Justin: "We need your help in prioritizing everything that is required of us from laws and regulations, among other things. In addition, customer insights are crucial for us during testing in build phases. By providing feedback on demos, we can further improve the quality of our software. We already give you the opportunity to be involved, but noticed that our mechanisms don't always work well. We are therefore working hard to improve customer interaction so that you can also think with us at a higher level of abstraction."

In a series of dialogue sessions on various topics, you can join in the coming time to be intensively involved in the formation and logic of our software. Together we would like to determine for each topic how the process should be set up. Do you feel the need to get involved? Then please let us hear from you!
